This fictional novel is about a fashion model team from New York City, shooting a new provocative Calvin Klein marketing campaign in Miami. This includes the sexy archaeologists Kian Hunter and Alex Pilchete who disappear into the Bermuda Triangle. Kian and Alex have been thrust into the limelight after their archaeology team, AMC, extraordinarily discovered the mysterious artifacts from the 14th century (see previous book The Chosen Ones of Callanish).  The team is forced into the Triangle by an international art smuggler’s ill-fated plan, a diabolical model agency owner, and nature's fury.  The modelling team’s plane crashes through a sky of dark ominous clouds in what appears to be the Atlantic Ocean.  They swim to an exotic island filled with lost souls from 18th century America, ghastly creatures, and a prophetic old man: Capt. Stiver of Flight 19 (lost in the Bermuda Triangle since 1945).

 

Chased by ghastly creatures, the past, and the cannibals, the team realizes a traitor is among them.  His criminal past follows him to the present when he sexually assaults the youngest model of the team, 16-year-old Katrina, before he escapes. 

 

Not wanting to believe they entered the triangle, the team experiences mistrust within the group.  Doubt has increased as they traverse the jungle of treetop cities, hidden passages, bamboo elevators and an ancient city reminiscent of Machu Picchu. The old man assists the team by leading them to an abandoned Mayan-like city high above the island filled with mysteries including the key to time travel and the only escape off the island. The prophetic old man persuades the team to wear natural green ink on their body to protect them from giving off their scent to the beasts, sunburn, and camouflage in the jungle.  Many members trust neither the old man nor Kian but continue to follow her instincts and leadership. Kian learns about the man’s past, the island, and an evil time traveler that’s chasing them., in which the group knows all too well.

 

The perverse model agent and antique art dealer, Miles Cassonova searches for his past and chases his future in search of the glowing alloy EPI (Elliptical Portal Instrument). This ancient piece of technology is one of the keys to unlocking the secrets of portal crossing and dimension traveling.  The EPI is a sextant that aligns the stars, the sun, latitude and longitude to show the time of the opening and location of time portals.  Following the clues written on the ancient Piri Ries map hidden in the city, Miles will stop at nothing, including murdering the modelling team to unlock the secrets of the orb.

 

The Old Man leads them to a 18th century schooner hidden in an ancient grotto. The plan fails as the ship is stolen and the race is on to enter the portal. Running out of time, the team is being chased and their hope to escape is crushed when the ship is taken from them.  The window of opportunity opens once every 27 years, and the time was near. While escaping to the ancient city, the unlikely traitors expose themselves, surprising everyone.  On the brink of death, the remainder of the group is rescued by Kian in a hot air balloon made from an old parachute.  Only a few of the original team survived to pass through the window of time portal, which looked like the Auras Borealis.  However, one of the team sacrifices themself to save the others in a tearful good-bye.
