Two romantically linked archaeologists, from the world-famous AMC archaeology company, Andy Scott and Kian Hunter visit their colleague and best friend, Bridgette Sanderson, at Edinburgh University. Once they arrive, they find they are in the middle of a murder mystery that has world changing consequences.

 

Charged with Bridgette’s murder they set out to prove their innocence and solve the riddles in finding the Knight Templar’s treasures before one of many sects finds it first. Needing Kian’s uncanny ability of premonition, she is manipulated into solving the riddles.

 

During the life-threatening race of clearing their names and finding the real killers the pressure separates the young lovers. Andy falls in love with the spellbinding Rowen: an amazing young historian, archaeologist, and thief, who belongs to a mysterious sect looking for the Templar’s treasures and an ancient 11th century book of spells called the Lacnunga.

 

Throughout the story Andy, Kian and Rowen learn that Jonathon Giles, secret supporter of both William Wallace and Robert the Bruce is the key to the buried treasure and Bridgette’s killer.  Jonathon’s adventures are written down by the Guardians unbeknownst to each other all telling a story about Jonathon bringing Kian and Andy one step closer to the findings left behind in reliquaries and closer to the buried treasure.  Throughout the different story’s Jonathon is mentored by the Master of Antiquities of Canterbury Cathedral, betrayed by King Philipp the Fair, befriended by the last grand Master of the Knights Templar, Jacque De Molay, escaped the grasp of Ezra Mojorva, Forest witch, fell in love with Alice Kyteller first witch charged in Kilkennie, Ireland, helped Robert the Bruce defeat the English in Bannockburn and created a secret orphanage for the destitute and outcast.

 

Just before Bridgette was murdered, three youngsters accidently found two medieval reliquaries that brought to light the hidden treasure for the first time in over 700 years. Hunted and almost killed, Kian, Andy and Rowen are chased by an ancient murderous sect while trying to save the world.

 

As the treasure is uncovered, our heroes find out more about Bridgette’s murder and an elaborate scheme was used to manipulate Kian’s powers of premonition to find the clues that were undiscovered by the rest of the world.  The only hope they have is Rowen’s Secret, but this secret will also alter the course of Andy and Kian’s lives.
